Just over one hour’s walk gets me to this hut on the Central Plateau. Lady Lake Hut is 1,130 metres above sea level and the walk is steep. Sometimes there is snow outside this window, sometimes frost. When I am there and no-one else is, on a weekday like this, I heat my water and sit at the table with my tea. Write a few words.
